9to5 was honored to be named as ‘Coolest Charity in the World‘ on July 10th, for our decades of work on Equal Pay – in recognition of the new level of awareness brought to this issue by the US Women’s Soccer National Team.
“The issue of pay equity is a real and persistent problem for women and families and one that disproportionately impacts communities of color.
Pay equity sits at the intersection of gender and racial discrimination, workplace harassment, amongst a myriad of other issues that impact women of color in low wage jobs. These jobs are also less likely to provide wage protections and family-friendly policies for their workers.
So, as we are lifting up the issue of equal pay, let us shine the brightest light on the women in our community that needed this yesterday!”
