At some point, everyone needs time away from work to recover from a serious illness or care for a sick loved one or new child. Yet the majority of working people in the United States cannot take the time they need without risking their jobs or economic security.
The Family and Medical Insurance Leave Act, or FAMILY Act would institute a federal paid family and medical leave program. For 9to5’s National Day of Action on Women’s Equality Day, August 26, Action Network members will be raising awareness and building support for the FAMILY Act.
