We envision a world where families have access to affordable and accesible child care with a well-supported and well-compensated workforce. Our current child care system is built on policies and practices that are rooted in racism and sexism. This system places undue burden on working women, parents, and early childhood educators. We are fighting for public funding to ensure that all families have access to child care that meets their needs and providers are well-supported and paid a thriving wage. The movement for child care is building momentum in this time of crisis. We are working with parents and providers to develop broad leadership within the movement and execute strategic campaigns. We are fighting for policies at the state and federal level that will bolster our child care system. As a member of the statewide Infant-Toddler Coalition, we are pushing for significant, long-term state child care funding to ensure that every family who needs affordable care can access it and that early childhood educators are adequately compensated for their skilled, essential work.
