Climate Justice became 9to5’s newest issue area after realizing many of the injustices our members face overlap with climate change. These issues, including a lack of access to clean air and water and poor public transit, inhibit our ability to thrive and live healthy lives. We aim to find practical and sustainable policy solutions that meet our members’ needs.

Report Spotlights Climate Justice Blind Spots for Colorado Families
Many Coloradans living in lower-income households are at higher risk of harm from climate change as well as environmental racism and injustice in their day-to-day costs of living. Senior organizer for 9to5 Colorado, Hannah Recht, shares sources of air and water pollution including highways, refineries and coal-fired power plants, which have been zoned for and installed where low-income and communities of color call home.
