As of December 1, 2023, I will be stepping down from my role at 9to5 as President and CEO. The past five years here at 9to5 have been a journey filled with joy, laughter, change, challenges, and love and I am so thankful for the moments I have shared with many of you.

From the day I started, I began building a team of leaders, increasing our resources, and deepening our commitment to the community we serve. I am proud of the dedicated, talented, and inspiring team that has grown from all of our work together. Our staff, members, funders, and friends have achieved remarkable milestones and overcome challenges that have fortified our team and organization.

But don’t worry! 9to5 will not skip a beat. Mica Whitfield, current Vice President of Programs and Partnerships and former Georgia Executive Director, and Ashley Panelli, current Vice President of Innovation and Strategy, and former Political Director will lead our work as Co-Presidents in this next chapter! Mica and Ashley are homegrown leaders and true powerhouses with an impressive track record. I have complete confidence that their leadership and vision will be a perfect fit for our team’s continued success. They will make history as the first black women to lead 9to5 in our 50-year history!

In the next few months, I’ll be participating in a residency writing program and then taking a much-needed sabbatical. I am not saying goodbye to the cherished relationships and memories I’ve built here. I will forever carry with me the invaluable experiences and lessons from this journey.

In solidarity,
Leng Leng Chancey
President and CEO
