Dear friends,
History has been made. On April 5th, we elected our first African American mayor in Milwaukee! Congratulations to Mayor Cavalier Johnson!
9to5 Wisconsin came together with community partners to ensure Milwaukee’s top priorities for our next mayor include being a city where all residents can thrive and live dignified lives, where schools are fully funded, and where everyone has the human right to equitable resources.
Earlier this year, 9to5 co-crafted and supported the paid parental leave ordinance that Mayor Cavalier Johnson signed into law! We look forward to our continued work together to co-create legislation led by constituent voices, particularly our working women and families, and communities of color, as they often bear the brunt of the injustices in the system.
At 9to5 Wisconsin, we are committed to working with our community and civic leaders to create the Milwaukee we deserve. For today, tomorrow and always.
