As a grassroots, membership-based organization, our members are affected by the issues we work on every day: low-wage jobs, the erosion of a social safety net, the lack of paid sick time and paid family leave, unemployment, and workplace discrimination.  Our programs include grassroots organizing, leadership development and training, nonpartisan civic engagement and policy change campaigns. Canvasser Job Description:  

Responsible for going to targeted doors, phone banking, text banking, and community events, with the goal of encouraging marginalized communities, especially communities of color, to register to vote, participate in the 2023 elections and identify the issues that the voter cares about. You will be expected to build a relationship with the voters that you will be speaking with. Requirements include ability to work flexible hours, communicate with voters, and comply with the required reporting process to be submitted to their respective Team Leaders. Bilingual in Hmong and/or Spanish is a plus. Compensation is $20/hour for a total of approximately 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

Current Registered Voter/eligible to Register to Vote

Bilingual – Conversational in both English and Spanish/Hmong

Ability to work flexible hours

Responsibilities:

• Canvass BIPOC communities through community and street canvassing, tabling events, door-to-door, phone banking, and text banking.
• Engage community members and voters around Voter Registration, Voter Education, Vote by Mail and Get Out To Vote.
• Identify likely voters for the 2023 elections.
• Increase BIPOC voter turnout through Get-Out-The-Vote tactics.
