Statement from Christina Thor, Executive State Director of 9to5 Wisconsin, on the Election of Susan Crawford to the Wisconsin Supreme Court
Wisconsin voters have reaffirmed that our courts belong to the people, not to wealthy special interests. This election was a powerful statement that our judicial system must remain fair, independent, and accountable to the communities it serves—not influenced by billionaires trying to tip the scales of justice in their favor.
The decisions made by our Supreme Court impact every aspect of our daily lives, from workplace protections to family security and equal access to justice. With this victory, voters made it clear that they want a court that prioritizes fairness and the rights of everyday people.
But the work does not stop here. The integrity of our institutions depends on ongoing engagement and vigilance. We must continue advocating for a system that ensures everyone—regardless of background or economic status—has a fair shot. When we stand together, we build a future where justice truly serves all of us.
In solidarity,
Christina Thor
