Hi {{ FirstName | default: ‘Friend’ }},

In July our staff traveled to the woods of North Carolina to reconnect with each other and ground ourselves in our mission and vision. It’s no small feat for all of our chapters and departments to hit pause and gather together to celebrate and be with each other in person.

We believe in creating spaces for collective care, where our staff can support one another and we can all foster our community

with discussion, laughter and support in our collective work. We’re so thankful for this rest as we gear up for this year’s election and everything to come this year.

In Solidarity,

Our Vote

We’re down to under 100 days before the next election. Women of color have always been the backbone of our homes, our workplaces, and our democracy. We’ve delivered election after election for candidates who don’t look like us and don’t prioritize us and now we have a historic opportunity to move this country toward a future where women and nonbinary people of color can live and thrive.

From our workplaces and communities to the highest office in the land, we know that when women of color lead we all succeed. We

have an opportunity this election season to make a huge stride toward a brighter future and a future where the leadership of women of color is a force to be reckoned with.

Over the next few weeks we’ll make sure you’re not just election ready but informed and excited to vote. We’re ready to make this step forward for our country and our futures together.

Spotlight

On July 9th we recognized Black Women’s Equal Pay Day and that Black Women make just 66 cents for every dollar a white man makes. One factor that contributes to the pay gap is workplace harassment.

When Black women are harassed in the workplace it can cause short- and long-term effects on their pay that contribute to the pay gap. They may leave a job early, affecting their career advancement or they might cut or change their hours to avoid their harasser and some might face retaliation for reporting harassment, like cutting their hours, receiving poor performance reviews, or being denied promotions or raises.
