Press Conference: Atlanta Bans the Box
Join 9to5 Reformed Citizens Committee to celebrate our first big win! We are proud to announce the City of Atlanta’s new hiring policy which will help remove barriers to employment for the formerly incarcerated. 9to5 will recognize Mayor Kasim Reed as the first mayor in the State of Georgia to make this historic decision. We will also recognize Human Resource Commissioner Yvonne Yancy and her team for all the work they have done to make this important change to the city’s hiring policy. 9to5 Atlanta Reformed Citizens Committee began their work to end discrimination in the workplace against the formerly incarcerated two years ago. Through speakouts on local TV, sharing their stories at events around Atlanta, and working closely with the Human Resource Commissioner’s Office, their hard work has paid off! Join us at City Hall to show your support for ending employment discrimination against the formerly incarcerated.
