9to5, National Association of Working Women seeks a technology intern to assist with technology infrastructure and Web 2.0 strategy. Internship tasks can be tailored to interest and skill set.
9to5 is a grassroots membership organization, founded in 1973, which strengthens women’s ability to work for economic justice. Our goals are to build leadership among low wage working women and to win improvements in workplace and public policy. Current campaigns focus on paid sick days, expanding family leave, increasing the minimum wage and protecting affirmative action programs.
Responsibilities:
- Website development and design
- Researching and implementing strategies to increase web traffic
- Creating internet “storefront” for the organization to promote branded items
- Facebook –increase page and cause members, report stats
- Twitter-increase followers, list in directories, report stats
- LinkedIn –increase group membership, report stats
- Flickr- upload photos regularly, report stats
- Blogspot –create content, increase members, report stats
- Database- reports and analysis
- Keyword analysis
- Create Technology “how to” manual
- Plan trainings for staff/members
Compensation:
Unpaid Internship minimum 15hrs a week, class credit offered
